Walk to the Park

Walk to the Park. The walk alone is enough to keep them busy. When you there, of course they’ll even have more to do. It’s a great time for you to relax a bit and enjoy the day, keeping an eye on them while they bounce from one activity to the other.

Being outside helps children grow

Being outside helps children grow and develop – physically, socially, and emotionally.

It may also help them avoid childhood obesity, and give them the chance to burn some of that extra energy from being indoors and inactive.

The order of teeth

The first teeth that tend to appear are the two bottom front teeth, and these are usually followed 4 to 8 weeks later by the four front upper teeth.

Then about a month later the lower lateral incisors will appear, followed by the molars, and then finally the eyeteeth. However the order in which teeth appear will vary from child to child and so do not be alarmed if they do not come in this exact sequence.

Develop balance and strength

A great way to teach your toddler to walk is to tiptoe. Tiptoe teaches your toddler to actually use his/ her own body weight to develop strength and balance.

Before allowing the child to tiptoe, make sure you do it while the child is watching. Then have the child follow you as you tiptoe forward, backward, sideward and in circles.

Never forget your snacks again

Pack all the food for tomorrow’s outing and put it in a large bag in the refrigerator.

Then put your car keys on top of the bag so there’s no way you can leave the house and forget the food.

Truth about becoming alergic

The more often you eat a food, the more likely you are to become allergic to it.  Breastfeeding, delayed introduction and variety help reduce the risks of food allergies.

Most kids outgrow their food allergies by the time they are three. Early reactions to foods like tomatoes, milk and soy products tend not to persist.

Other reactions to foods like nuts and shellfish do tend to stick around.
