Avoid these foods until they are at least 4 years of age: hot dogs, nuts and seeds, chunks of cheese or meat, whole grapes, hard gooey or sticky candy, popcorn, chunks of peanut butter, raw vegetables, raisins and chewing gum.

Start applying sunscreen BEFORE you even leave the house. This is extremely important as toddler skin is very sensitive and burns easily. Taking the time to apply sunscreen beforehand ensures that you can get their whole body covered and not miss any spots.

Diaper padding only goes so far. Those hard shopping cart seats can be irritating to some toddlers. Consider making or buying a shopping cart cover to keep your toddler comfortable while shopping. This will have the added benefit of preventing your toddler from being exposed to the myriad of germs that can be found on the shopping cart.
